The population is approximately 1,515,148 in 2010.[citation needed] Surendranagar is also known as Zalawad, as the city of Surendranagar was ruled by Zala Rajputs. Surendranagar City (including Wadhwan City) has about 400,000 inhabitants, and is known as the city of Hi-Tech Bungalows.HEMNAR.
